Psalms
1:3,6 Says, “They are strong, like a tree planted by a
river. The tree produces fruit in season, and its leaves don't
die. Everything they do will succeed. This is because
the LORD takes care of his people, but the wicked will be
destroyed” (The New Century Bible Version).
This
tree that’s planted by the river was first taken from some other
areas. God as cultivator of your soul has taken you from the
darkness of sin, of that unfertile and hard ground, and placed you
by rivers of water. This is a river of love, filled with mercy,
redemption, and reconciliation. God blesses the individual with
the cultivated waters of the Word. The Word is meditated on and
committed to, by individuals both day and night.
The
river God provides has nutrients of grace and is full of promises.
This river is a communion with Christ that is never ending, nor
failing. Christ's resources are plentiful. Love is the soil at the
banks of this river where you will nuzzle up in the richness of
this soil of love. It is the roots of your tree becoming firm and
strong. Centered in Christ, this helps us to extend God's love to
all. |

| WORSHIP
CONTEMPORARY MINISTRY |
|
Those born
after 1960 grew up in the age of television, computers, and screens. They
rely on visual pictures to experience the world, the church, Christ, and
God. In addition, they rely on all their senses, not just hearing.
Multi-sensory worship, worship that engages all the senses, especially the
visual, speaks their language. We learned that these people make up the
vast majority of the 60% un-churched in our community. Churches are
reaching these folks who use praise teams, dramas, bands, symbolic objects
to touch and feel, and especially, video screens, with still or motion
pictures supplementing word of mouth messages. The
current chairperson is MANDY
MUELLER

discover ways to live as Christian disciples. They are to listen
to God through worship, prayer, Bible study, and conversations
with Christian friends to discern God’s call for the
congregation. They are to listen to people in order to determine
needs and develop opportunities that help them strengthen their
relationship with God and respond to God’s grace. The current
chairperson is ANDY
HOGAN
