A special thank you to all the volunteers who phone and visit our sick and shut-ins.

 

 

 

MISSION
Our Volunteer Ministries strives to encourage volunteerism in our congregation by providing  volunteer opportunities within our church and community, and by supporting and affirming our volunteers.

CURRENT LEADERS AND MEMBERS
The members of the Volunteer Team are chairpersons Diane Gorman, Sharon Chambers, Karen Sabiers, Carol Dixon, Anne Irick, and Jean Shewell. 

This ministry meets monthly with a brainstorming session to share ideas, renew energies, to review any requests for assistance and gather information on the progress of projects currently in the works. We use this time also to update our list of sick and shut-ins.

ACTIVITIES
Visiting Sick - The ministry has a "buddy" that attempts to visits or call on the sick and shut-in on a regular bases. Things incorporated in each visit:                             

v     Call first!

v     Take a church bulletin with you.

v     Take one of our "visitor calling cards" to leave.

v     Let them know the Church cares and they are not alone. 

v     Listen to them.

v     Say a prayer with them, if they would like.

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES
Sharing - "Talents or Gifts" to help in the nursery, tutor a needy student, coordinate events (food drive, clothing drive, etc.) or reading to the more challenged individuals.

Other Opportunities - "Things YOU Could Do" like Phone or visit a shut-in, Smile more, Take time to pray, Bring a friend to church, pay attention to a child.
