OUTREACH MINISTRY

Being Centered in Christ, we the Outreach Ministry of Hayes Memorial UMC, will reach out to people wherever they are, to receive them as they are and to relate them to God through Jesus Christ. We will extend God’s Word of love to all. 

This is accomplished:

This is accomplished through Missions, Volunteers, Higher Education and Race Relations. Outreach shall give attention to local and larger community ministries of compassion and advocacy, church and societal issues, global ministries and concerns, religion and race, and the status and role of women in the church. We are to nurture and equip the church for Christian discipleship, and to send them out to be the church in the family, the neighborhood, the community, and the world     

"...you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  (Acts 1:8)

Centered in Christ we will –

Reach out to those in our community who are seeking a welcoming church where they may worship God and explore their faith while enjoying fellowship with neighbors and new friends.

Reach out to the community at large, that they might see the love of Christ in us and through us, that they might welcome Him into their own lives... wherever they may live and/or worship.

Reach out to those within our church, that we might provide them the opportunity to move from attendance to active participants in the life of the Church, thereby increasing their faith and the Universal Church.

We simply want to bring people to Him, open up people’s understanding about Him, and build them up in Him. Most of all, we want to be a living expression of the love of Christ to those within and without.
