MINISTRIES

There are a number of different Ministries going on at Hayes Memorial, and we are sure there's one that would be a good fit for your particular Spirit Gift and interest. God, in His abundant wisdom has given many gifts. Romans 12:6 says, "We all have different gifts, each of which came because of the grace God gave us." Using your Spirit Gifts brings you joy and reaching your full potential is God's plan.

COMMUNICATION MINISTRY
Centered in Christ we will communicate to God the radiance of his worth in worship, communicate our love for one another in nurture, and communicate the truth of the gospel to the world in witness. Communication is at the center of the gospel. Communication is at the center of our mission statement.

MEDIA MINISTRY
We serve by producing videos, graphics and other media types for use in our worship experiences in our New Horizons Contemporary Service. More and more people rely on visual pictures to experience the world, the church, Christ, and God. In addition, they rely on all their senses, not just hearing. Multi-sensory worship, worship that engages all the senses, especially the visual, speaks their language.

OUTREACH MINISTRY
Being Centered in Christ, we the Outreach Ministry of Hayes Memorial UMC, will reach out to people wherever they are, to receive them as they are and to relate them to God through Jesus Christ. We will extend God’s Word of love to all.

WORSHIP MINISTRY
To see the church gathered and united each Sunday morning in our Traditional and Contemporary style of worship services that encourages everyone (young and old) to give an outpouring of praise that will be a radiant reflection of Christ's own life and love.

WITNESS MINISTRY
The Witness team shall give attention to evangelistic outreach to persons, membership care, spiritual formation, lay speaking ministries, and witnessing through the sharing of personal and congregational stories of Christian experience, faith and service. The team shall envision what God’s will and dream for the congregation’s future might be and shall set goals that are consistent with that vision.

KNITTING GROUPS

Our church has a group of knitters that meet and knit to help families in need, especially through the cold winter months.  They have made several beautiful quilts and are always looking for more help.

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

We offer both adult and youth bible study groups.  The adults have three choices of times to meet throughout the week to better fit your schedule.  You can choose from Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., or Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.  Classes run for about 1 hour.  The youth Bible study group offers a similar curriculum as the adults to kids ages 5 to 18.  The group meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.

YOUTH MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Want to help out at the church but aren't sure how?  The youth ministry is always looking for volunteers and there are many things to choose from to help out.  Whether it is helping in the kitchen to prepare meals on Wednesday nights, presenting in children's moments on Sunday morning, helping with Jr. Church, or even teaching during our Wednesday Night Youth Club, we would love to have your help.  See our youth director, Kyle Hintze, for more details.
